This is to people in all communities!!?

Violence is the #1 affect of death in our communtiy. Did anyone hear about the liitle 4 year old girl Jasmine Owens who was shot in the head Monday night by a drive by shooter. This hits home for everyone in every community. Rather you have children or not, ENOUGH SHOULD BE ENOUGH!!!!!! It's sad that an innocent baby had to lose her life for someone else's ignorance. How do you feel about our babies being the victims now? What do you think needs to be done in our communities now?

This is to people in all communities!!?
I live in a bad neighborhood, and I sympathize with both the victims and the people too scared to get involved.

yesterday, while walking my dogs, a schizophrenic lady I barely know started screaming epithets at me. Should I simply walk away? Should I find some religious people to perform an exorcism? Should I have called the police about that fight in the house with all the HUD posters on it? Should I risk the retaliation for sticking my nose into other people's business?

The best I can do is teach my own children and my nieces and nephews that they do have more options than those they see. Many who resort to violence do so after years of looking for answers in all the wrong places, and see no other option but death and destruction. Gang members sell drugs because one stupid act that results in a felony conviction can prevent them from getting hired, but no one tells them they can still own and operate their own business legally. Many women stay in bad relationships because they need the financial support, they can't get babysitters and so they can't get a job, and become victims because they see no doors opening for them. And no one seems to be teaching anyone else how to forgive. Drive-by shootings happen when someone just can not forgive and forget and move on. Kids need to be taught that there is such a thing as forgiveness. they need to receive forgiveness and they need to forgive others. Then, maybe somewhere, something might change.
Reply:thats disgusting....poliec patrolling more often and pray THY KINGDOM COME ON EARTH
Reply:I think we really need to understand what people are hungry for. In their boredome and violence, in their depression and rage- they are hungry for God, He is found when there are those willing to express genuine love and openness to building a sense of community and connection between people no matter what their background or appearance.

I think there needs to be an awakening, I think those who call themselves Christians need to cry out to God for love and humility. I think people of all backgrounds need to take pride and comfort in building thier own communities up, not destroy them. I think there needs tobe continuous effort to get involved in young peoples lives- there needs to be hope and respect taught to them and protection from corruption given to them from those of us older than them.

I amso sorry for your communities loss, so sorry for that family specifically and for that innocent little girl caught in the crossfires of violence...may you find peace and life.
